The Baku Ateshgah often called the "Fire Temple of Baku" is a castle-like religious temple in Surakhani town (in Suraxan─▒ region), a suburb in Baku, Azerbaijan. Based on Persian and Indian inscriptions, the temple used as a Hindu, Sikh, and Zoroastrian place of worship. "Atash" is the Persian word for fire. The pentagonal complex, which has a courtyard surrounded by cells for monks and a tetrapillar-altar in the middle, built during the 17th and 18th centuries. It abandoned in the late 19th century, probably due to the dwindling of the Indian population in the area. The natural "eternal flame" went out in 1969, after nearly a century of exploitation of petroleum and gas in the area, but now lit by gas piped from the nearby city. The Temple of Fire "Ateshgah" nominated for List of World Heritage Sites, UNESCO in 1998

It is a Shiite mosque located on the shore of Baku Bay, in Azerbaijan. Built by the builder Mahmud ibn Saad. Destroyed in 1936, restored in the 90s of the XX century. In the Bibi-Eybat complex, besides the mosque, there were tombs and tombs of revered people. Here was the grave of Ukeymikhanum, the descendant of the Prophet Muhammad. On her tomb was inscribed on the stone inscription:

"Here is buried Ukema khanum, the descendant of the Prophet Muhammad, the granddaughter of the sixth Imam Jafari Sadigi, the daughter of the seventh imam Musei Kazim, the sister of the eight Imam Riza" The local population in the past called it "the mosque of Fatima". Using the same name, the mosque was also described by Alexander Dumas. The mosque was a place of religious pilgrimage. Alexander Dumas, who visited the mosque in the 1850s, in his book "The Caucasus" claimed that "the mosque is the place of worship of infertile women, they come here on foot, pray and within a year receive the ability to give birth" According to the writer, the poet visited the mosque Khurshudbanu Natavan (Dumas calls her princess KhasarUzmiyeva), who less than a year after. This son was born, and as a donation, a road was built from the mosque to Baku.

It is included in the list of the World Cultural Heritage "UNESCO". The reserve is widely known for its excellently preserved rock paintings - petroglyphs, a kind of artistic "archive" of human evolution on the planet Earth. The documents of such archives are the first translation of the human "I" to the surrounding world. The rocks of Gobustan are not only the brightest witnesses of the prehistoric period of human existence. They have reflected the history of this region for almost 15 thousand years - from the end of the Upper Paleolithic era to the Middle Ages. To date, Azerbaijani scientists have identified, described and studied more than 4,000 petroglyphs (rock carvings in the stone carving technique), and this important work continues.
