An international cruise route in the Caspian Sea may be opened next year

A circular cruise route between countries such as Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Azerbaijan-Russia can be launched next year.

According to "Kazinform", this was said by Kasim Tlepov, acting chairman of the Transport Committee of the Ministry of Industry of Kazakhstan.

According to him, the five countries bordering the Caspian Sea are doing relevant work to develop cruise tourism and solving the main issues: "For example, we see how the city of Aktau is changing. The beach has been improved and hotels have been built. Mangistau region, Aktau city has great potential in the development of tourism.

K. Tlepov said that currently they expect the cruise ship to be ready: "The Russian side is building this ship in Astrakhan. The ship will be called "Velikaya Rus". We think that the ship will be ready next year."

He also shared information about the planned cruise ship's route. "Routes will be opened from Astrakhan to Aktau, from Aktau to the Avaza tourist center of Turkmenistan, from there to the city of Amirabad in Iran, from Amirabad to Baku and Makhachkala. Thus, in the future, a tourist route that travels around the world through the territories of five countries will operate," said K. Tlepov.

It should be noted that the potential tourist flow of the cross-border cruise route is expected to be 30,000 people per season.
