Thailand plans to introduce a new medical visa from January 1, 2023

The project to launch a specialized non-immigrant medical visa (Non-Immigran MT) was approved at a cabinet meeting on November 15.

The visa will be annual with the possibility of multiple entries into the country, but with a residence permit of 90 days. An applicant who needs long-term treatment will have to apply to the Immigration Bureau every 90 days (apparently, we are talking about obtaining a new stamp without leaving the country).

Applicants must also have at least 800,000 baht (1.35 million rubles) to cover expenses in Thailand and accident and covid insurance with coverage of at least $100,000.
