The destinations most visited by Azerbaijanis by plane have been announced — LIST

Turizmplus.az reports that the most popular destination from Baku is Istanbul, where eastern and western cultures meet. During 9 months of 2023, more than 745 thousand passengers were transported on the Baku-Istanbul-Baku route. Airlines flying to both airports of this beautiful city include Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), Turkish Airlines, AnadoluJet and Pegasus.

The second most popular destination is the capital of Russia, where about 510,000 passengers are transported. Flights from Baku to Moscow's Domodedovo, Vnukovo and Sheremetevo airports are operated by AZAL, Aeroflot, Utair and IrAero.

The United Arab Emirates is one of the most interesting and attractive travel destinations for autumn. Passengers can travel to Dubai through both AZAL and flydubai airlines. During 9 months of this year, more than 224 thousand passengers were transported in this direction. In addition, most passengers prefer to travel on the Baku-Abu Dhabi-Baku route. Flights in this direction are performed by "Air Arabia Abu-Dhabi" and "Wizz Air Abu-Dhabi" air carriers.

Regular flights from Heydar Aliyev International Airport to Georgia's capital Tbilisi and vice versa are operated by AZAL and Georgian Wings. The national airline of Azerbaijan operates flights on the Baku-Tbilisi-Baku route twice a day. "Georgian Wings" airline of Georgia increases the number of regular flights up to 5 times a week and carries out flights every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

It should be noted that 39 foreign airlines fly to Heydar Aliyev International Airport, 17 of them are low-cost carriers.
